How long does a home EV charger installation take?
Many Level 2 installs take a few hours when panel capacity exists and the run is straightforward. If a new dedicated circuit from a distant panel, drywall repair, or panel upgrade is required, the job may take a full day or span multiple visits to accommodate utility or inspection schedules.
What affects duration
Distance from panel, finished-wall fishing, subpanel additions, and trenching to a detached garage all add time. Permits and inspections add calendar days, not just on-site hours.
